Pistols!!

"What are pistols?"

Well, let me tell you, "They are a wonderful variation on the squat. It utilizes all the same muscle groups, but also challenges balance, agility, coordination, and mid-line stability." Check out these videos for more information...Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.

All of our activities prior to the WOD prepared the athletes bodies for the Pistols.

Overhead dumbbell squats

Lunges, sit-ups and belly slaps activated the necessary muscle fibers for maximal output during today's workout

10 Pistols
12 Shoulder Press
15 Pull-ups/Ring Row/Band Pull-ups

The beauty of CrossFit is its scalability. If an athlete is unable to perform the Rx'ed exercise, modifications can be made based on ability and fitness level. Krista is performing band assisted pull-ups instead of the regular pull-ups



Tomas is repping out the Shoulder Press.



Terry is performing inverted rows rather that band assisted pull-ups or regular pull-ups. Keep up the good work Terry, we enjoy having you with us at CrossFit Legacy.



Jerry repping out the unassisted Pistols. They are a difficult exercise even for seasoned CrossFitters like Jerry. Way to push through Jerry!
